Jukka Vaajakallio was employed right after his graduation in 1975 as a designer to Oy Lohja Ab's Finlux factory for a product development team. Design became a competitive factor back then, because they needed distinction to stand out from their competitors. They continuously had to introduce new and unparalleled products to the market for cheaper prices as the competition was tight and technology was developing. The designer's task was to invent and make new forms, new usability and manufacturability understandable. The picture shows a draft drawing of a television, year 1976.
